Fang Xu — Contemporary sculptor and painter
Biography
Fang Xu brings the structural spirit of Cubism into dialogue with the emotional resonance of Expressionism.
After graduating from the Sculpture Department of the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2013, Fang Xu established a practice between Princeton and Beijing.
His work has received sculpture awards and entered institutional and private collections, including the German-Chinese Young Artists Development Fund, Changchun Art Museum, International Sculpture Park, and collections in Los Angeles.
His evolving language, described as ‘Linear Cubism,’ places line at the center of an inquiry into individuality, connection, and collective experience.
